Programs
What does SWFCEE do? The following is just
a sampling of SWFCEE's activities:
- Sponsorship of SWFCEE's daily radio show "The Florida Environment"
(www.floridaenvironment.com).
The radio show is heard each weekday morning on WGCU FM-90.1 and
is also heard statewide on nearly all public radio stations in
Florida! The Florida Environment Radio Program is also heard on
the Environmental News Network (www.enn.com).

SWFCEE sponsors the
Florida Master Naturalist Program (www.masternaturalist.org)
. This statewide program of the University of Florida Institute
of Agricultural Sciences offers eco-heritage training at the University
level.

SWFCEE is a partner
with the Natural Resources Conservation Service in sponsoring
Envirothon (www.envirothon.org),
a field oriented natural resource education program for high school
students.

SWFCEE is in partnership
with Lee County Public Schools in support of the Lee Schools Environmental
Education Program (www.lee.k12.fl.us/dept/ee/).

SWFCEE is in partnership
with the South Florida Water Management District and Florida Gulf
Coast University to provide Environment Education Micro Mini Grants.
These grants to public and private schools in Lee, Collier, Hendry,
Glades and Charlotte Counties are designed to support teachers
and students in developing a deeper sense of place and in connecting
to all aspects of the unique Southwest Florida environment.

SWFCEE partners with
Edison Park Creative and Expressive Arts School to provide the
Natural Legacy Program. This is an elementary school level environment
education program that boosts writing, reading, math, research,
vocabulary and computer science skills.

SWFCEE partners with
Audubon of Southwest Florida in sponsoring the Community Environmental
Breakfast. This event brings together community members to network,
listen to an inspiring speaker, and to plan together for a sustainable
Southwest Florida.
